| Sorry for the noob question, but does anybody have a set on thier car? I love the wheels and if I can make them fit I'll eventually get a set. I've seen them on 944's but I want to know if they'll fit a 924... |

if you stick with the 7in ones they should fit but may require a small 5-7mm spacer.
here are my cayman wheels on a 924s

| They look sharp! I was looking at the wheel enhancement site, and saw those as well, The phone dials I have on mine are absolutely mint, but I really like the cup wheels. Thanks for the info.... |

1. Matched front to rear sets
2. Brembos are bigger than Wilwoods
3. Used set of four Brembos can be had for half the cost of front-only Wilwoods
4. The PORSCHE script is just dead-sexy _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Hmmmmm......
1. Theoretically..yes! However in practice I've found the rears do hardly any work. So much so that for circuit racing I now run Pagid Blues on the front and STANDARD rear pads...but then again I've always liked a 'pointy' car.
2. By much?
3. Only in US of A. And as us here have found to our chagrin, heavy objects are price prohibitive, freight cost wise.
4. Ok you've got me!
PS Dan, and O/T. Have you had any contact with ARP lately? _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

Actually just sent an email today. I forgot to pass along, but he told me that those washers and bits you were after can be ordered directly from their stock order desk: 1-800-826-3045.
If you have trouble with that number, send me a list of what you want and I'll arrange it for you.
{EDIT}
Regarding the Wilwood vs. Brembos, I don't recall the piston sizes of the Wilwoods offhand, but I seem to remember reading that the Brembos have much larger pistons up front, although that may depend somewhat on the exact iteration of Brembos you get...
But to your point, those Wilwoods are a really good deal considering everything that's included. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Dan, the pistons on the wilwoods are larger than the brembos (if my information is correct) it is the rotor size that gets you. the 951 rotors are larger and dissipate heat better. (may be a give and take)
i got the wilwoods, pads, fluid, and ss lines all for $500 so i couldnt say no.
if anyone is interested, ive got some 951 rears for sale. i was going to use them, but ive got engine work that needs my financial attention.
oh, and thanks all for the wheel complements. _________________ 17in caymans, koni yellow coilovers, hypercoil springs, kla solid upper mounts, 968 sway bars, kla drop links, kla strut brace, fidanza flywheel, dansk catback, wilwood front calipers, ss brake lines, e-codes, 944 duckbill, manual rack,momo steering wheel |

Do you know the piston sizes offhand? I think the Brembos range from 40mm to 44mm in the fronts depending on the exact model they were pulled from. I know the rears are 36mm from the 86 951...
{EDIT}
Just confirmed the 86 951 has 36mm/40mm up front and 20mm/30mm out back. 298mm discs, for what that's worth. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

wilwoods have 41x4
i think they should work well with 951 rears using a 951 bias valve. i am rotors and a brake line short for the swap. _________________ 17in caymans, koni yellow coilovers, hypercoil springs, kla solid upper mounts, 968 sway bars, kla drop links, kla strut brace, fidanza flywheel, dansk catback, wilwood front calipers, ss brake lines, e-codes, 944 duckbill, manual rack,momo steering wheel |

That's the setup I run on a 924S with a 3 L engine. (Wilwoods/std disks up front, 951 rears/-86 951 disks rear)
The absolute beauty for me of the Wilwoods is the ease of swapping pads. It's Seconds compared to Minutes when faffing with the Brembos. |

how did you get the 951 valve in? 951 brake line?
i can change my wilwood pads without removing my wheels. _________________ 17in caymans, koni yellow coilovers, hypercoil springs, kla solid upper mounts, 968 sway bars, kla drop links, kla strut brace, fidanza flywheel, dansk catback, wilwood front calipers, ss brake lines, e-codes, 944 duckbill, manual rack,momo steering wheel |
