Ahh, I just looked at the photo and its old title "body and mind". That led me to the original article I got the pic from...

https://www.excellence-mag.com/issues/181/articles/body-and-mind

Edit: Its a real GTS #20

I wouldn't have thought it was this way

Update. Getting somewhere now after redirecting my energy away from turbo stuff to this.

Not done yet. In process pic

Its a bit of a hybrid between stock, straight from the scan, and the Porsche Museum GTS which has this type of center console.

Will have to create a test piece first and tweak CAD fitment from there

Adding details before test print. Added proper vent control mounting features as well as a rear support mount idea to try. Also opened up bottom since I want hand access if needed. General tweaks and fillets... Thinking about sectioning it instead of waiting 2 days per print currently. Want to test top seam and mounting to dash at upper section. Its close now though

Another idea is to make a removable front plate so I can cover in leather or Alcantera to match the CS dash

Upper section printed for test fitting to dash. Just want to see how the seam and mount area worked out.

Also, need to cull some weight where its not needed. There is a lot I can do on the backside. Not sure what printer will be used for final print. That doesn't happen until I am happy with gauge and control panel fitment. Nonetheless, this is just a distraction when I can't work on other things

I'd like to place my order for a GTS console

As well as this guy if you can put it into your development plan

Although I think it wouldn't be hard to adapt from the stock part

Oooohh, that's a cool idea... that last one. I want to do something there too but never thought of using the same shroud style.

Thanks guys. This is just the test piece. I decided to print things in sections for test fitting. Rough layer height makes the top swept up section crappy. Again only to see if I got the dash fit nice. Need to pull a center console out to try it probably on my 80. Gauges fit nice though. Actual 'work' is getting in the way right now.

CarreraRSR, thats the style I am trying to emulate with that little up swing near the dash seam. Will keep playing with it once I am happy with how it mounts

Going to print the control section next separately to see how that panel fits

Test Print 2 as I refer to it. Just for testing fitting parts and procedure development. Plus I keep parring weight out of it which helps with print time reduction. Might actually do the entire console in 2 pieces, front and rear, if I like the looks of everything. With printing its a constant compromise and I can't design this for printing entirely since I am duplicating a "look".

This is raw with no photo filter. There were some issues (one facial blemish and layer issues) but I already have solutions. Other printers I can print with have material choice issues but would look better but have other exceptions.

Just pulling you guys along on my journey to make this the best way possible. Most of the time I don't share as much of my development pain (turbo mount has a long history)

Hopefully I will have time in the next couple of days to test fit everything. I have at least 4-5 major projects going on simultaneously.

With such large prints, and I guess you're using a 0.4mm nozzle, you're pushing the limits of the technology and materials.
If you want to improve layer adhesion try upping the nozzle temperature 10%
The way the material was stored is also very important.
For such large prints its important to dry cook the material before the print and make sure the enclosure of the material while the print is ongoing is also warmed up and not affected by humidity.

For such large parts you can use an 0.8mm or bigger nozzle.

Since you're still in the experimental phase, is there any way to put a bevel into the gauge pod openings to make the gauges sit at an angle so they're facing the driver more? Sort of like the early 240Z cars gauge pod.
More accurate reading by the driver. Tried something like that for my '80 years ago just using PVC tubing cut at an angle and it made a
difference in reading the gauges. Just something to consider.

But not so good for us owners in UK, IRE, SA, AUS, NZ, HK, JPN, India plus the other 70 or so Countries who drive on the correct side of the road.....

No problem. Just flip it upside down.

I had a surprise layer shift and somehow had grabbed the wrong settings which caused the layer adhesion but really only in one spot. Wondering if my override of the thermostat that night didn't take either. For the main part of the actual face, not the walls, I was able to up the nozzle temp and slow the speed manually. I think the high rapid speed over that total distance was the ultimate problem and maybe belt tension. Plus the temp you mentioned Morghen

0.6 nozzle right now. I actually made a bunch of motorsports parts with a .4 nozzle and they turned out awesome (not sure what I am allowed to say so I'll leave it at that. I'm not even really allowed any pictures!) I did it over and over with nearly a perfect outcome. They want it perfect obviously since their customer has to be happy. I'm doing the full design though which means I design to print and that makes a huge difference. I'm not a fan of supports either and this GTS thing is full of them. I learn though every time and I love that. It benefits everything else.

Its funny you mention the angled gauges. The original version or at least one of the three I have seen has the gauges angled toward the LH driver. Obviously, as Carrera mentioned, that will be an issue for some. Right now I am making it straight (its easier too) but was surprised to realize how angled down they were in the standard gauge panel since the whole panel is actually angled a bit forward from the bottom. I have started the disassembly in the car so the test fit and any CAD adjustments will be driven from this next fitting.
