I had some thoughts about making some kits for sale but shipping costs may become an issue. I will sort out the design and make a feeler thread to see if there is a demand for this kit _________________ WBR, Shurick

Had a new exhaust made for the 924SC, finally this car gets some attention for itself after it has been used as basically a test rig for the last couple of years.
The slow driving and idle is now quieter and smoother...however full beans or near WOT and high RPMs is louder...by quite a bit.
This is acceptable as this exhaust flows much better than the one previously on the car.

Took this little beauty for a short spirited cruise yesterday evening. S1 Turbo that I balanced, in a S2. 10psi and a free flow exhaust which allowed the extra noises out to be enjoyed. Brand new Koni's all around. Felt good and tight and really strong and peppy for a non-IC car

Been keeping quiet lately as was very busy with work...and i spent the time taking my 924 apart for a complete rebuild.
Engine was pretty tired when i got the car (cam lobes were missing milimeters of material and cylinders had rust holes in them), i beat on it for some years with my supercharger testing as well. Clutch was sort of dead when i got the car as well, so i decided i'd treat it nicely and put new pistons, new clutch, refurbished everything.
And while the engine was out for rebuild i got convinced to do a full body restoration by a friend that started his high quality body shop business after being a junior associate to the best body shop in the country.
This car didnt have an easy life, had multiple fender benders and the repairs were not up to a standard to match the car...so all those old repairs redone properly now, all the body reworked so no filler will be used.
Body is now still being worked on, but i'm putting the engine back together.
Hoping to be done with the engine in a couple of weeks.
Body will likely only be ready at the end of summer.

Very nice! Wish I had the space and time to do that to mine...
Did, however, tackle a leaky firewall and rusty floorboards over the last week or so; finally all back together, and am awaiting thunderstorms later today to confirm the leak fix before I start reassembling with good clean carpet and new dash... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Tackling the A/C. Other than shooting refrigerant in I have never really worked on air conditioning. Got one of those triple hose double gauge pressure things. So far I have discovered it had little to no refrigerant or pressure in it, and a small leak in one of the hoses.
I have also discovered A/C hoses are not cheap, and YouTube videos are not to be trusted. I watched a guy "fix" his fuse problem for the A/C by lubricating the regular ventilation fan.
Anyway very much a learning experience for me, I am treating it like an engine rebuild, one step at a time, read, observe, inspect, work, double check work, read more, proceed. _________________ 88 924S

Since you have gauges, buy a couple cans of refrigerant that has UV dye in it. Put it in the system and run it quickly. The UV dye will leak out wherever there is a problem. Also buy a little black light version of a flashlight and start inspecting the components, hoses, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. The black light will highlight wherever UV dye has leaked from your system and you will know what needs replacing. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

Now that's funny except that it wasn't helpful
That is a real project and not one that is tackled often. Good luck _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

The wait is a killer indeed..cant wait to get my 924 back in one piece and drive it again.
Things finally start to look like more progress with my 924.
The whole car gets this treatment, bare metal strip in every nook and cranny, straightening of the metal by hammering and other techniques that aim to keep the galvanic protection as much as possible where possible, thorough cleaning, epoxy and primer before it goes to the paint finishing and painting.
