Its back in one piece, sort of...I didn't fit the engine covers...so you can reach to the engine while in the seat. I'll do the covers in the next days as now the car is back home.
Had a hard time bleeding the coolant...its still not perfect but heats up the cabin and cools the engine.
Will spend some of the next evenings fitting the covers and interior trim that had to be taken off to remove the engine.
Engine sounds healthy and quiet.
Running it in on pretty thick mineral oil but I think I'll flush it out after a couple of hundred km and put a fresh mineral oil for the next 1000km before going full synthetic for the long run.
So yeah, finally something really exciting..driving this car again.
Fitted new brakes and Eibach lowering springs.
Feels stiffer than the original coils and looks much nicer.

Fixed the sunroof, both gears were stripped, yes I cut the headliner, but that part is all under the plastic cover, seemed less likely to cause visible damage that way than pulling it all the way off.

I am not sure if I got the adjustment quite right (maybe it should go higher) but I can raise, lower, and remove it, the plastic gears were very stripped, replaced with brass and clutch loosened a little.

Got a stock steering wheel and installed, also sealed a bit of hatch with silicone, I know maybe not the best way, but it was separated on top and making noise, now it is not, pushed shims in every few inches, then silicone, then removed, clean up excess, let set fora couple days, have taken a few drives and seems to be all good. One more try at posting pics.

Crappy pic, but success

Lowering the car and taking the rear subframe out messed with the geometry and car felt twitchy in some conditions.
Did an alignment today, not possible to retain the original camber with this amount of lowering so I'm following the Cayman R geometry specification.
Interesting bit is that front suspension increases caster with lowering and also the toe was affected by the lowering, that was the reason for the twitchy behaviour.
Nevertheless the car is now in Cayman R geometry specs...but sadly I noticed one of the front shocks leaking...so..I guess its time for new shocks.
Any recommendations on shocks and where to buy them?

200Km left of the 1000 run-in.
I'll throw the mineral oil out and swap it for fully synthetic Motul oil next week.
Cant wait to hear this engine rev...kept it under 3000RPM and gentle on the throttle.

Love the way it looks lowered like that.

>50°F today and mostly sunny. Not quite April so technically I ought to be going to a show or a mechanic, but I just had to pull the cover off and take the Weissach for a spin today. Told the kiddo and she got real excited for a cruise. We only took a loop around the west of the city but it was enough for the first drive of the season.

Nothing like driving a 924.

It really was the perfect weekend for this and just the right timing before a new round, albeit small, of snow and salt...supposedly tomorrow anyway

Nice sunny Saturday, but rainy Sunday.
Didnt do anything except some prep work on the CNC machine i have access to.
Slowly ramping up the supercharger kit production.

Also took a sprinted drive on some twisties with the croc as its now past the 1000km of run-in and i can rev and push it a bit.
Loving the sound of this thing and the overall driving experience.

Learning more and more about its balance and its grip..or lack of...as i'm beating on some old and worn out rear tires which offer less grip than a fresh tire...so i'm having fun tail whipping it here and there

I lowered my rear end so the rear is the same height as the front per the article on this website. Changed the light in the glovebox, put a new dashcap on. The old one was wavy on top and someone decided glue was not enough, and also screwed it down along the bottom.

It turned out pretty good for a cap.

Can't seem to find free hosting site that works here it is IMG Button-URL-IMG button, right?

Worked on clamping down a leaky hose

get url for picture

Not too exciting in and of itself, but

free image hosting websites

The exciting part is first work I have done on my lift, have had it a few months, but used just to store cars until now. Man it is a lot easier to do that kind of work standing up.
