i think we can set up a chat off of Yahoo Groups. It could just be a link to a room there. im not really an internet goo-ru so i wouldnt know the specifics im sure theres other options... would be cool though.

Or, you could just download MSN Messenger, exchange email addy's, and we're online.
I use my MSN Messenger daily for work, and have categories for Friends, Coworkers, etc.
Alternatively, you can create a 924 Chat Community on MSN. I did so for an experiment so it'll be at least prototyped. Try this:
http://communities.msn.ca/924Discussion
924Discussion@communities.msn.ca
Steps
1. Click the link
2. Join the community
3. Click Chat, and you're in.
It's quite do-able.
Either way you guys decide to go, it's a good idea.

the prob with msn messenger is that:
a)not everyone can run it (if you are behind a firewall at work good luck!) and
b)you cant easily just broadcast a question to everyone at the same time and have them all reply righ back... you have to message each person individually...
or maybe im wrong...

No you're not wrong. MSN Messenger is a personalized 'client', and that doesn't mean you necessarily have a chat room, but read above, as I edited my last message, and there's a chat room ready for you to try. I'm there now if you want to give it a whirl.

| Yes, good idea. I'll see if I can automate it using folks here who show interest. |

Hmmm.
Doesn't work on a Mac?
What fascists those MSN guys are, eh?
You still use a Mac? Are you some kind of hippie?
It crapped out on me a couple of times too.
It is MOST LIKELY Java software, it should be platform independent...nothing to do with Microsoft. That's how you can have an MSN icon appear below your posts...cause it's all in Java.
Try the process again and be sure it's not just a crap out. I experienced two of them so far and it's in part due to timeout settings and traffic on the MSN site.

Ah! A hippie!
Ok. Sure, another format is perfectly fine. But whatever we do it'll still likely be twitchy under some platforms. Still, Java should do the job...
