| Bet that really got your attention! Of course I mean a car bra, not the human variety. I just installed a bra that I got on e-bay for $25. It is in fairly decent shape, but the part that confuses me, am I really expected to roll up the damn headlight covers every time I raise the lights. Is there a beter way, and did I get an old design? The straps that hold the headlight covers look like they were once elastic but are now strectched out. It is a Colgan bra and very well made. What are your experiences with bras, pro and con? And Dwak, I don't want to hear about your seventh grade experiences with bras on this post, but you can e-mail me off the board. I'm already regretting all of this. |

The front bra/mask work great for keeping the front of the car clean of paint nicks and dings.
Make sure that the front of the car gets a fresh coat of hard wax on a regular basis, and clean the backside (paint contact side of the thing occasionally of keep paint damaging debris off the paint finish.
Alsway remove the mask when it gets wet, before it dries to avoid paint damage, never install the mask when it is wet, or allow it to dry on the car to avoid paint damage.
The elastic on the headlight flaps wears out, so you will have to replace it occasionally.
I think the older one piece mask design is superior to the new three piece design with sepearate headlight covers. The separate headlight covers on the newer three piece design are fitted like shower caps, and the parts that curl over the sides of the headlight panels interfere with the clearance on the sides of the headlight covers, and partially block the beam of the headlights.

| I have had one on my 44 for the past 5 years, no tears, rips, paint discoloring etc. If you worry about it don't put it on or sell it. I have one on the 931 also. I had to modify it slightly for the fog lights. |

| You know, if stone chips are the issue, try a 3M transparent film that also covers the paint,...can't see it and it works. |

I've seen cars that have bras on them and when you take the bra off 5 years later, there are stone chips. Don't know why. Deflectors work well but wouldn't look good on a porsche and wouldn't fit easily.
I've seen those mirror bras too. To what extent do we just dress the whole car in underwear? how about some pink panties on the rear bumper. |

i like the panties inside on the rear view mirror myself, but whatever you prefer...
i saw a 944 with a full front Lexan shield (plexiglas), and it looked HOT. anyone know where a person could track one down? the owner said he bought his a long time ago and it cost a lot.

There is a plastic covering you can get... It is not really noticeable, but can take a 2 ounce rock at 100mph and not crack the headlight.
It covers the whole front of the car, from airdam, bumper, lights, the front of you hood... The only thing you see are the edges. If you are somewhat skilled at detail, and a relentless perfectionist, you can roll it under the body gaps, and nobody would even notice it. |
