| does anybody have a picture of the 'porsche' sticker that goes along the back of the car just above the bumper or the porsche sticker that sits in front of the 924 badge just below the rear hatch. stripped mine off when painting and am unable to find replacements |

| those stickers are for sale at your local Porsche Dealership. I know they are regularly stocked in the parts dept. (I work in a Porsche parts dept. good idea if you wanna keep up your car for cheap.) I bet you could pick one up for $10.00 american. |

Im sure this has been brought up before but…while were talking about badges…
I should be getting my new front badge this week. Anyone have any recommendations for me on how to stick it in there? I have a 1982’ 924. I was hoping NOT to try and gently pry it off as my gentleness would surely chip paint with my luck. Id have to take a closer look, I hope, maybe that the front isn’t welded on…
Tips? Ideas? Hints?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

bad news, the front panel is spot welded on, you have to drill all the welds out, top and bottom and then undo the bolts that attach the front panel to the front fenders, these are especially tricky, pop the headlights up first and you should see what i mean. then figure out a way to mount the new panel. i used about 25 gutter bolts through were all the welds were and it pulled up pretty well.
good luck |

well the new badge came today from VERTEX.
I really had to PRY the old one off. Couldnt get acsess from below or behind by the alternator vent intake due to the hood latch being in the way. The only way to come NEAR those posts is by removing the coolant resivior, then get in under/through the hood latch mount, then i can touch them with a really long screw driver. that dosnt do me much good, so i'll look for a long set of needle noses tomorrow.
As for the badge i got from Vertex, no good. Its posts are set too high meaning when i put that badge through the holes it sits too low exposing the top part of the gasket.
I guess i'll have to go to porsche for the right badge. If all else fails i will have to grind off the posts then get some serious glue and glue it on where it should be.

ideas?
my poor car, it has a big emtpy spot on the nose now

well, low as in, its set too far towards the FRONT of the car... its height is okay, just too far towards the front.
Called Porsche, they are instock, 40 Beans + 4 Beans for gasket + 2 beans for washers, comes to like 50 BUCKS after TAX for this badge that i already pulled off! DOH! guess i walked right into that one!! YIKES! (holding onto my ankels!)

solutions...
Heres what ended up happening. Dont get badges from vertex unless you want to modify it and end up glueing it to your Porsche.
I went to the dealership and got a OEM, a real OEM, i guess Vetexs discription of OEM is diffent that what the rest of the world is... Got the OEM badge, paid the price for it, and it came with gromets, not speed nuts like the car was equiped. I will enlarge the exsiting holes by a very very small amount so the new gromets will fit in there very tightly. Then insert the new badge into the gromits. The posts are in the correct postion and it lines up. Done deal.
Point is, if you try and save a buck you only end up getting it up the rear anyways. So ive solved the 'line up' issue, and solved the 'how the heck do you get your hands back there' issue.
