Would a 4' x 8' sheet of 1" thick plywood on the floor of a dirt floor garage be safe enough to use jack stands? Or will they just bust right through with the weight of the car? Maybe I should try levitation? Any suggestions? _________________ 1980 924 turbo, MSD, Meth. Inj, otherwise stock. |

How flat and how packed is the dirt? Is it moist? On the plywood, they normally make 3/4" exterior and interior grades and 1 1/8" interior grades only. Make sure yours is exterior grade. If you use interior grade, spilled coolant or water will cause the plywood to delaminate. If the floor isn't flat, a 1.25" buildup is recommended to keep it from flexing/warping when weight is applied.

These are all good suggestions, I would just add, maybe put a tire/rim or two under the car, just in case. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |
