So I have taken the plunge and ordered a megasquirt 2 unit to install in my
79 924 so I have to start getting parts. I think that I would like to eventualy
turbo it like racerboy did run the exaust to the cold side 200 or more horse
power would be great .
So what size injectors do I need I think I read 30 or 35lbs injectors would
be about right I all so remember reading about pencel injectors .
Allso do you need an O2 senser do you need a seprate driver or can you just plug it in to the megasquirt 2
Have been working on cars since I was 15 thats 35 years had a 924 for 10 years now but have only been driving it dailyfor 6 months and need more power.

Hi,

You don't need an O2 sensor, but it will help alot with getting AFR right. The LC-1 from Innovate comes with everything you need - and MS2 has an input for O2. Other guys are using other O2 options (JAW, AEGO), so do some reading and see what works for you.

I've currently got 26lb injectors for my install, but I'm going to be NA initially.

Would recommend getting a stimulator and a relay board - simplifies alot of things.

Good luck with it! If you haven't read my thread it's linked from my sig below

Cheers,

Thank you for your input I wil be looking for something around 21 to 26 to start of with. Turbo will come later think I will start with NA. Might start with
LC-1 on the CIS to see where I am now.

You should collect lots of datalogs from your LC1.

That way you'll know how to create a nice AFR table which will make your EFI tuning super easy (I think).

I don't have any direction for my AFR table so I don't know where to start... you're better off with some targets you obtained while still running CIS.

Not really, you don't really want it running like cis.

sigh, seriously. This is like the 10th time you've said something like this. I started with a AFR table I took from some random one posted on the megasquirt forum, and then edited it the way it should be. Not that difficult, you want around 13.2:1 afr full throttle for a na application, and around 15:1 around cruise. Like I already mentioned, I've posted my afr table, I can post it again since you seem to be having such a hard time.

What are you doing for a fuel rail? You're going to get IAT and CLT sensors I imagine too...?

Sorted then!

By "NA rail" I assume you mean it had the NA mounting brackets with the dog-legs? The straight brackets are for the 931 head. I only know this because Todd contacted me after I bought mine and sent me the new brackets.

Exactly. The one I had was the steel variety with the brackets welded on.

I took a fuel rail off a BMW straight six, cut it into peices and welded it back up, works like a charm ( got the whole rail with injectors and bosch FPR for $40, but I would not suggest this route). CLT sender for an Alfa works perfectly, has the same thread and costs around $3, the only snag is that it grounds on the body of the sender, so it might have some noise on the signal. Oh, and you will have to calibrate it with easytherm or the likes, I glued a LM35 precision temp sensor to it and threw it in a pot to get different points.

Brand-new sensors are cheap (<$20) and with GM style ones like these you don't have to worry about that...!
