I've had the turbo on the road and put 1000 miles on the new engine, works great! However was getting some noises from the rear after I'd hit bumps in the road and what I have found is both rear inner and outer control arm bearings just plain worn out! Now I've been down a week for this and I've had to drive all over central New York to find the parts and I am still not done. SO I decided to junk these pieces of shit and go back to American junk! At least the parts are more readily available, I'm sick and tried of chasing down parts all over the country and world! Monday I am trailing both NA's, the turbo and the four crates of parts down to the salvage yard. I am personally going to crush all of it! At least I'll get that satisfaction. I'm done!

! Say it isn't so! At least find a NYer who could put the stuff to use. Or maybe contribute to ragenruin's Donation Drive.

Or you can bring 'em to MI and I'll figure out what to do with 'em Especially the turbo.

Holy crap! Yes, please don't just salvage perfectly good bits! Think of all of the difficulty you've had in finding good parts and consider that everyone else has similar difficulty. If nothing else you can part the cars out, make some money back and help all of us other hopeless causes!

No, no, no...don't crush them !!! That would be thumbing your nose at the rest of us who really believe in these little cars. There will always be little nagging things popping up that will keep our cars off the road at times. I had to wait 6 weeks for a gasket from Germany for my 931 earlier this year. Believe me I know how you feel, but crushing them and making parts that much less available to the rest of the 924 community...just isn't right. I live east of Rochester very near the thruway and am looking for a car to make into a track car. I know the people that bought my 931 will need some stuff...so please rethink this

Strange, I have a harder time finding parts for my 4.3 litre v6 chev piece of crap than I do for my porsche, maybe you just haven't learned the correct places to look?.... I can't buy valve retainers for my chev, I can't buy valve keepers for my chev, etc, they are backordered so badly that the parts stores have no idea when they can even get them in.... You'd think a domestic car would have a easier time getting parts, considering they are the same parts a small block 350 uses....... Oh well, sounds like another grass is greener situation. At least my porsche doesn't use metric -and- standard bolts on the same motor. Or have such badly machined fasteners that you pretty much have to throw them all away after you remove them the first time.

Some people give up too easily.

Geez... my 3yo has the same reaction when she can't get a puzzle piece to fit... But she's smart enough to ask for help after her tantrum...

Crushing it all out of spite would be the biggest 3yo tantrum I've ever heard of...

Either my wife or I drive through Syracuse every 4-6 weeks or so. You can recoup some of your costs by selling to the people on this board. I should think recouping some of your costs will be far more satisfying.

Crushing them might also just make you more angry.

If you recoup some costs, you can buy something for your wife.

you've got an anger management problem m8. Why would you want to crush a car because of two bushings?
Porsche is not for poor people who want performance and confort.
I've thrown 20K EURO(thats about $30K) at my car to be satisfied of it-and i can tell you that it wont make any noise going over bumps-...how much have you spent?
I still have a 1500 924 wich makes noises when i hit bumps...and thats normal..because its an old car wich has not been restored.

So if you just want to drive the 924 with no issues like this...get to a good shop and tell them to replace everything that is made of rubber in that car....check your gearbox syncros..oils...engine...everything..and then you wont be angry anymore.

924 is not a "cheap and good" thing.
if its cheap..its crap just like every other thing on this world.

Don't scrap anything.

I'm looking into getting a 931, and am in Virginia, and have to move a 1999 Camaro with tons of mods (American junk) to get in to a 931 Porsche....

Let's be reasonable, here. Let calm prevail. The crusher? Bad call.

Jeff

Hey maybe he got well.

We are all sick with passion over the 924s and sometimes dwell on minor issues. I think BillA got over it and feels much better now rather than search for missing parts. Sometimes that happens toa ll o use. I geet tat way wen tings go rong. Kant fined dat vacum leek.
