has any body considered putting a volkswagon 4 cylinder turbo diesel in a 924
i think it would be cool to have an oil burner 924
i think diesel trucks are the shit so why not my 924
technically the engine i pulled out of my 924 was volkswagon so it would technically be all good for loyalist
i think it would be cool rolling off the line with black smoke rollin and the turbo spoolin

if a diesel is blowing black smoke then it's not tuned right nor making the maximum power.

the Audi diesel that I looked at was SOHC and not even a crossflow head, dunno about VW diesels, but it would be as much work as fitting any other engine so why bother with a smokey oil burner, when you could have V8 power...

It would be worth the bother IMO... maybe by "oil" buner he is referring to burning veggie oil as I burn in my 92 F250. While the rest of the world is freaking out about the price of gas I am driving around on waste veggie oil for free.

years ago someone posted a pict of a 924 with a 1.6/1.9 diesel engine in it somewhere in germany... It was a mechanical injection diesel much like I had in my Audi 4000/80 Turbo Diesel or what you find in a early golf or jetta
