Yeah, not bad - rationale is that the back seat is wider than our Subaru Outback - so the 3 sprogs will fit a little easier without killing each other!

Ever tried car shopping where the first question you ask is "how wide is the rear seat?" - you get some weird looks...

Its a commondor... Be careful the americans will think you have a G8 sport truck????????

Nice Ute only joking bout the commondor bit, they really are very good value, hope it gives you lots of fun and not too much trouble. It definately is a nice upgrade from the old.

I once thought it would be handy to have a ute I used to have an f100 and an f350 when I ran my own business when I sold the business the guy only wanted the 350 and I thought that it would be handy to have a ute so I kept the 100 it sat in my driveway for 2 years untill a guy down the road came by one day and asked what I was doing with it. He offered me a stupidly small amount of money for it which I told him to double and he took it (still cheap about $5000 under the market at the time) never wished I had a ute again... but I am starting to think that it may be handy to have a ute????

The missus and I are downsizing the fleet.
We will end up with her Fiat spider, my 924 and the ute.

The ute comes in handy- I need to do dump runs and tow the boat down to the ramp.

These (utes) are supposed to come stateside as a Pontiac. I, for one, am curious to see how they do. I have a feeling it might not do well over here. I'm not sure I would buy one with 3 kids now, but it would avoid having to rent or borrow a truck when I need to run to the home improvement store.

Nice upgrade BTW.

Neat, I like the fact that you have a whole class of vehicles there that we don't have here.

Yeah, that's pretty fascinating. The El Caminos et al never did too well here. Although we do have the SSR...

I, too, have always been fascinated about it as well. The move is an effort by GM to be truly global. Many might think that a company is global if they are doing business in foreign countries. In the automotive industry, to be truly global, you are producing the core essentials the same everyone (reducing costs) and only making subtle or cultural changes by region. Our beloved Porsche is a perfect example of global manufacturer.

Did the SSR do well?
lol

GM would have done far better to keep the Camero budget they scrapped for the SSR. The SSR is done and the Camero is back - and has a lot of ground to catch up on with the success the Mustang has had.

Won't be that hard. . .all it has to do is show up at the party with an aluminum block and IRS and the Mustang will go back into the past from whence it came.

I would not be at all surprised if they do. They're probably smaller and lighter (read: more fuel efficient), certainly more dynamically capable (read: ride and handle better) but on the whole, are pretty much just as functional as many of the big pick-up trucks you Yanks and Canucks have.

On a side note, I still do a double-take when I see a Holden Commodore (Pontiac G8 ) drive through the middle of Vancouver! Just haven't gotten used to seeing them here yet...
