OK- I heard talk from cam people and need some help so yes Im asken ?

All theve done is reshape the cam for longer duration &lift and took material off the heel of each lobe.If it turns ok dont worry about anything Ive been told,Im thinken For some reason
shims might be needed.What for? Do thay make different v spring collers for the bucket [tappet] might need to be lower or is it higher. Dont have any idea where to get them
though this makes no sence to me Im not goin to go any further and think up stuff to write here about what I think cause it would
take to long &might not make a whatever. So
whats the deal anyone share to me, Im just gonna put it together and if it rotates without binding
set the valves[there shouldnt be a need to check piston height] & start it up.Well of course thats about 2weeks away & I should buy some new things. Can I make my own intake gasket & another ?. Where can I get a
gasket for this header its used an d doesnt have one.Make my own or buy a stock one?

Joes924- if you need shims just throw that cam away... ok, maybe not but if you need shims go to http://www.dst-racing.com and ask Jay for help. He can sell you shims for your cam...

I would rather suggest just get an Integral Cam... they be good :}

Yeah, you'd think if they took metal off the heel you'll have to raise the tappets to have the valves adjusted correctly. Hopefully there's enough adjustment available there that you won't have to add parts, but who knows? You'll find out soon enough...NBTNDT.

I went out to dinner that night recorded it though had to mother-in-laws birthday they lost tonight though numbers. Wonder If I adjust the valves to the same mm as in Haynes for a stock cam.

That would seem to be the thing to do. Just be careful - I heard some Haynes books have a mistake in the valve clearance specs. I don't recall specifically what the mistake was though.

Joe-
by how much are they increasing the lift on the cam? that will be the distance you need to make up either with shims or the adjuster screws. although i really don't think the screw is going to be able to make it up. any shop that does cams should be able to get you shims or tell you where to find. although Jay at DST is your best bet.

and yes, you adjust the valve lash back to stock specs. that is a function of the material expansion more than anything. it is independent of the cam profile.

good luck
