What were the original colours the 1977 Porsche 924 come in. I am repainting my car and want it to look good. The old lady I bought it from painted it purple and they did a really bad job.

Yikes! Purple?!?!?
Ok, I'll admit, I once had a purple van. -And yes, I painted it myself, but they tricked me! They called it "Indigo Blue" and I picked it from a tiny sample under flourescent light. I also have a color vision deficiency! I swear what I was seeing was royal blue with little flecks of red in it. (it was Metalflake) Even the primer was some red-blue-kinda pink crap. I'll tell ya - when you're out on the driveway spraying pink primer on your car and neighbors arrive home and get out of their cars laughing, you don't have to wonder for long what they're laughing about. I brought the rest of my primer down to NAPA and had them add some green tint to counteract the magenta wildness and after I sprayed on the "Indigo Blue" flakes, I tamed that by topping with a few layers of candy apple blue. What a friggin' project.
Porsche colors -
I have the parts catalog that includes a listing of colors, but they're in German and it doesn't say which ones went with what years. Here are the first 5: diamantsilber, dolomitgrau, geminigrau, heliosblau, hellblau.
Oh duh, your name's Berlin, maybe you speak German?

It might help if you could either find the original paint code or indicate what kind of color you want. Beware of the early-mid 70's colors - those are the only years that Porsche's colours sucked, IMHO.
This link might also help:

| Fine thing, that Google. If I get a sudden burst of energy, I'll key in the rest of the colors and see what they are. |

You forgot "kupfer metallic" (L95F), which translates to copper metallic. It is on the color plate attached to my '77 model.

Sorry. I guess if I were a truly competent poster I would have checked the years that my parts catalog covers. It only goes from 1980 - 1985. |

| I saw a beautiful maroon paint job once. It was 2 coats of silver, and then a mix of 2:1 metallic candy apple red / metallic silver. It was a rich burgundy, with plenty of sparkle... I need a spray gun! |
