Hi

I want to lower my 924. Looking at least 30mm all round. Anybody got some recomendations for front springs and shocks. I would like to go lower, but in UK only Porsche shop seem to sell 30mm springs.

Try THIS. Quite a bit of height adjustment in that setup, and it uses your stock strut assembly to give you coilover-esque flexibility.

Cheers thanks for this. My VW club that I am part of reckon, I should lower it 60mm. Though I am not sure if this would be possible & if the ball joints would take that?

Don't know about the ball joints, but your steering geometry will suffer. The 924 already suffers from 'bump steer' which gets worse as the tie rod angle increases. Some people use heim joints and adapters at the outer tie rod for this reason.

Search the tech section. . .there is an article on this (although it calls for aluminum load bearing components, which I would say is a no-no).

Ha! Another dubber with a 924!

From my understanding, late 944 top mounts lower the front approx 1", add in 30mm springs and you've got 55mm right there.

I mailed Paragon products about the front struts lowering. Ie how they work, apprently the lower spring perch can thread up and down hence giving a lower ride height.

250 lb springs can be bought shortened. I have them on mine and all you have to do is level the car at the rear. The latter is a must.

To be brutally honest, any strut equipped front suspension will suffer from "bump steer" so adjustment is needed to reduce this effect during normal suspension travel. If you lower the suspension the amount of travel needed doesn't really change that much, just where it occurs.
