Looks good from here! How's it look up close?

Photo tip? (I'm a photographer in real life. I just play a Porsche smart ass and pretend know-it-all in cyberspace.) Shoot from the other side where the sun is shining about mid-day with the sun shining from a little ahead or behind the car (a little ahead is probably better), down low (lens about level with the middle of the door top-bottom and side-side) and far back enough to eliminate your shadow. Zoom in if you can to almost fill the frame with the car and adjust your position to have the reflection of the brightest part of the sky spread out evenly across the car front to back, but try to eliminate any glaring hotspots from the sun. Got that? Not too much to ask right... You'll see the difference spreading the skylight out makes if you look at the two pics on the first page of my website. The top pic has the skylight spread out and makes a much better picture than the lower pic. (click www below)

Yeah obviously not the best photographer! I will take your advice and try some re-shoots.

This is probably the most clean and brightest guards red car I have ever seen! I did all of the work myself and used all PPG paint products. I would say my total outlay was $1200 and about 60-70 hrs. of time. I also sanded and buffed to eliminate orange peel in the paint. The car looks like glass!

Joe...this is a 924S. 5 lugs standard. This car is basically a 944 with the 924 body.

What a great looking car. I normally don't like aftermarket wheels, because they usually don't match the car very well. But those look awesome. Great job!

The wheels are indeed off of a Boxster and are 16X6 ET 50 w/quarter inch spacers (approx. 44 offset) up front and 16x7 ET 40 in the rear. They don't rub either. This is the max offset I would go with all the way around on a 924S. Everything is very tight!

Did you paint on the driveway or in the garage or take it to a spray booth? Acrylic enamel? Two part polyurethane acrylic enamel? Clear coat on top? I have more questions, but I'll lay off...

(I's fixin' to paint mine soon.)

My next door neighbor is the manager of a body shop and the owner allowed us to use his flat bed tow truck to get the car there and be the first car painted in his brand new $125k paint booth. I primed the car in the garage and wet blocked it in my driveway.

I used PPG basecoat (DCU type) with PPG 2042 clearcoat. I toyed with using "House of Kolor" paint, but just couldn't stomach the cost!

Jason, excellent looking car. The rims really look great on the car! Good choice not to use House of Kolor, a nice paint for effects, but generally very difficult to work with unless you paint on a regular basis. I'm looking forward to repainting mine this summer also. Mike
