Playing with my pet PET, and noticed this:

Anyone ever seen or messed with this? Could it be a factory bolt-on for toofahs? I didn't call for pricing, but very interesting.

Well, Rasta, I would like to begin by sharing my observation that your questions are insightful, creative, and an asset to 924.org. Thank you again for everything.

PCNA pricing for these bits follows:

944 333 032 33 - $225.77 (Koni Damper)
951 333 531 31 504 - $109.91 (spring)
944 333 526 01 - $30.44 (cap)
TOTAL (both sides) = $732.24

Not bad, half the cost of a Koni coilover kit, but a lot more than Smoothie's JC Whitney setup. All parts are available, but predictably are warehoused im Vaterland.

I am awaiting a call from PartsHeaven on salvage prices.

Y'know, I am noticing that conversations I have with myself are far less marred by LIP.

Just got off the phone with George over at 944Ecology, and he opined that the M030 bits above wouldn't work with steel trailing arms due to differences in mounting.

Yeah, and I am so stubborn, I'm afraid I won't be completely convinced until I'm holding it in my hands. . .

That is true. . .but would you run them with or without t-bars? How do you choose and where do you get springs?

Could you elaborate or point me to the thread if there already is one?

I've got a Princess Auto close by.

Very nice, thanks for this!!!

Any comments on the feel of the ride before and after? I'm assuming the torsion bars are still in there too.

I think this might be the springs:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2005874/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2005874/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=rear+shock+springs&reviewflag=1#review

This is really interesting. Could this be a nice cheap way to stiffen up the rear end?

Well... you know I don't actually drive that car. They seemed to stiffen up the rear pretty good. I had to compensate for the 500 lbs of stereo.

I really do plan to drive the car this summer I will have lots of time once lobster fishing season is over in 6 weeks.... O yeah and paint Neil's car!

That's the thing, I don't have any extra weight in the rear of my car. Just 250lb springs up front, which I compensate for on the rear with a 19mm sway bar. Not ideal, as over dips in the highway when the sway bar has no effect I feel the rear is a bit saggy. I could always try the 750lb helper springs and see what they are like, you can hardly miss for that price.
