Just purchased some mud flaps from Eturbo924. He was very responsive in communication and the delivery was quick.
Anyways, I need help mounting these to my car. Did porsche offer a template that shows you exactly where to drill?
I really don't want it installed so-so close-enough. I want the holes drilled exactly where it needs to be, as if it came straight from the factory.
Please share with us your personal experience and advice on *properly* mounting these sexy beasts.
Thank you. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

I appreciate the effort on your posting pics of those old mudflaps.
Unfortunately, that isn't going to help me align my flaps correctly.
Has anyone here actually done this themselves?
Or how would a skilled body shop do it?
Thank you. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

I still haven't reinstalled mine, so have easy access to measure where the holes are.
I'm in the middle of reassembling my Jeep engine, but with some luck will remember to measure.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Ok, hopefully tomorrow..
I started to measure, but then realized it was going to take more than a few minutes, and involve more than a few simple measurements. I'll have to make a template because of the curved surfaces. I'm also missing the uppermost hole, and I believe it's gone on both sides (they got "repaired" along with quite a few more serious defects two years ago) - so also have to locate where that hole should be.
The Jeep engine's coming together at least -

wow smoothie, thank you very much. I nominate you for the most helpful forum member award.
I will be attempting to use the template you set out tomorrow. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

|
|
Hya guys, haven't been around much recently, the ole ladies getting some love and being touched up with some red paint.
Scrounging around in a scrap yard the other day, I found some original rear mudflaps that'll look cool, and give a lift to the styling to the back. (As per Rastas schematic.)
...got me thinking tho'.....I've never seen any front ones ?
Anybody know of anything that'll fit ? _________________ '83 924, absolutely straight, original, low miles...just another sad bloke with a fatal, expensive, addiction to old cars....the list is long and boring ! |

One more time On that picture in manual they showed 5 screws M6 but write it should be just 4 of them. I had to install my mud flaps lying around but they don't have any of screws so I want to put new one back in stock places. And mount them in rubber with some black silicone sealant which should be strong enough. Anyone have photo how stock mud flap should look like with screws? _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild
