I read that the side molding was standard equipment for the 1977 924. I have a 79 924 and it doesnt have it. Is it possible that as an option, porsche would remove the side molding for the car? I want to keep it factory, and if it was removed i want to replace it. _________________ =====>Alex<=====

No, Its a little black strip that runs down the sides of the car. _________________ =====>Alex<=====

I'm a firm believer in that just because it was factory doesn't necessarily mean it's worth keeping... but at the end of the day it's your car!

If I remenber correctly when I bought mine they were an option. So was the air conditioner. I got both but the air conditioner was the worst. My wifes cold shoulder was better. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

someone please confirm if this is correct:
the 924 SE or Le Mans only had these 'side moldings' on the door and it was a different looking part. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

look at the 'side molding' on rkunk's 924SSE
http://www.carriercomfort.com/bcffl/images/924s01.jpg
looks like the "side-molding" piece is on the door and only partially extends to the fenders and the quarter panel. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

I think only 944s had that type of molding and maybe the later 924S _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

I don't care for the thin black factory mouldings, but this coloured aftermarket version looked OK on my previously owned white car:

| The thicker molding was on all SE cars. It was also on 944 and late 924s cars. The thin molding peels off of my 87 easily. |
