I hope this is OK to post here. I wanted to get a valve cover powder coated - anyone know of someone in the northeast?

Thanks.

Berkshire Custom Coatings, Pittsfield, MA
413-443-3757

They did a volvo marine diesel tranny for me last year for $50

However-- you're in Boston? Cambridge and Somerville are crawling with custom bicycle builders and probably powder coaters. Call one of the bigger bike shops (Belmont Wheel Works or Cambridge Wheel Works) and ask if they know of anybody. Failing that, call Independant Fabrications (Somerville, I believe -- they have a website)-- powder coating's big in the bike world

You need to have that thing very very clean, by the way. The powder coater will tank it anyway but you need to get it spic and span yourself first

Actually the parts are not tanked before powdercoating, they are blasted.

Sand, or walnut, or corn shell, depending on the material to be coated.

For best adhesion, the material to be coated must be super clean, and a rough surface for the paint to adhere to.
