Goop on the back of the pads, available at any autoparts store. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Check the pads to make sure that they have not become glazed. If they are you can try salvaging them by dressing them with a course grit sandpaper (80?). Make sure that you protect your lungs with a paper mask.
And as someone else already wrote: a nice coat of brake quieter on the back of the pads while you are in there. |

I had the same problem with ceramics. I soon realized two things. . .1) they were perfectly quiet once they reached their ideal temperature, and 2) they only get there on the track. _________________ Toofah King Bad

My pads are quite thick but make a coarse noise like a grind when the car comes to a stop. Very annoying. _________________ 87 924s

Do not buy semi-metallic brake pads and always get the ones with a lifetime warranty. Wagner thermo quite ceramic pads are very good and don't tear up rotors. They have a slogan about not making any noise or producing any dust. Oreilly carries them. I know that it is more expensive to get the rotors and pads with the lifetime warranty but it is worth the expense in the long run and is good insurance cause you always need to stop good. The cheap pads are known for tearing up rotors and making tons of noise. _________________ 1988 924S: Koni fully adjustables, Short shift kit, head work, exhaust, K&N, Jacobs ignition, Larger Injectors, Performance Chip, 928 wheels with cooper Zeon tires, Momo interior, Etc.....

I am waiting for these pads to wear down so I can buy a set of drilled rotors and high dollar pads. I am too cheap to throw away thick pads. _________________ 87 924s
