So I'm at the end of tearing down the block at the moment and the only issue I'm having is when lowering the block to get the right mount out I end up hitting the steering rack... I was hoping that dropping the crossmember would be enough to give clearance.
Which joint is easier to remove the upper knuck at the firewall or the lower knuckle at the steering column? and is there an easy way to get it off? I've soaked it in penetrant for now, light ran out and the mosquitos are out tonight...
Thanks

IIRC I loosened the rack bolts (4 of) and removed the lower knuckle. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

No joy, found it easier to take off the tie rods at the rack ends... I've got 2 new ones going in anyway...
