it should just be a standard 13PSI rad cap, same as most fords/chevies, as well as some VWs _________________ 3 928s, |

Join the two wires on your radiator fan switch.
If the fan runs then you have found the problem. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

What does this mean? with my 924 i had the same problem with the fan not turning on at temperature, we got a brand new fan switch and it still didnt engage the fan, so we solved the issue by wiring the fan to always be on - but is there a better way? |

The rad fan is controlled by a temp switch, a resistor and relay.
A fault in either one will cause failure of the fan to operate correctly.
If the switch closes but the fan doesnt come on then the resistor or relay is at fault.
Of course I'm assuming the wiring and fuses are ok.
The resistor and relay are in parallel circuits.
The relay bypasses the resistor when the ign is on and the fan runs at full speed when the switch is closed.
If the ign is off the fan runs at slower speed until the rad cools.
For twin fan systems it gets more complicated. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA
