ONE. Never repair a 924 unless you do it yourself or are a spineless Masochist who enjoys being humiliated whilst handing over thousands of dollars to an arrogant 'mechanic'.
TWO. Go for it, guys, submit one.

PS These will be the rules all newbies will be sent to review for enlightenment.

TWO: if you didn't obey Rule #1, and you are not a spineless masochist, just a 'first-time-used-car-buyer' and happen to find a 'mechanic' who turns out to be a latent 924 owner without a 924, try to do everything you can to stop him to repair/restore every little bit of your car, even those you feel even you can do it.
THREE: Go for it, submit one.

PS: now gimme some advice how to stop him

THREE: (OK, this will have to be inserted further down this list) Once your 924 has been restored to running condition, start looking for another to become a parts car, which will inevitably become your primary car, since it's in better shape than the first car you bought. If you're getting really good at repairing the 924, you won't even have to go looking, they will find _you_.

OH, and Teo - see above Your friend is sure to find his own car, if I understand you correctly... I mean, your friend's car is sure to find him

Ve vill huv to condense all this into 'The Ten Rules' when we're done.
Five. Do not spend tons of money modifying the engine, just toss surplus weight overboard. Otherwise known as 'the power/weight rule'.

seven: It is possible to put a V8 in a 924, and it has been done successfully in the past. However, unless you personally have done such a conversion, don't bring it up. There is never a conclusion to those threads!

Well put! Too many of the cars sit for parts because some dumb old fart of a mechanic can't figure out how to tune anything more advanced than a carburettor...

Remember to take frequent breaks while working on these cars. They can be difficult to work on if you are not a midget.

When you are working on a project, be sure to do other associated tasks in the same area "while you are in there anyway". If you ignore this advice you will have to take it apart in order to repair what you should have done "while you had it all apart anyway".

Do it because you love it, not because you expect to get something for it (works in other parts of life too).

Once you get it running, just drive it and drive it and drive it. These cars love to be driven and will give many miles of enjoyment. Let it sit for more than a few days and it wil let you know if it's displeasure.
