Hey guys looks like ive got no spark, the mechanic that has the car, checked the car, said that electricity was going to the dizzy, but not comming out, said to get a new distributor, so i did, but still its getting no spark.
so just as a test i pulled the wire off the coil and just enough so i woudl see a spark if there was electricity flowinf but didnt see any spark, leading me to think that it might be the coil, but was else could it be? or would it most likely be?
THanks

You need to find the component that tells the coil to fire and trace from there to the coil. Did you say the mechanic tested that line? If the coil is getting the proper pulse and is not fireing then I would suspect the coil. If however the coil is not getting the signal to fire.... then could be as easy as a bad connection. That is what disabled my 82 924 for months until I figured out a connector was not 100% pluged in. It was 90% on and that is not enough!

Good luck. I hate electrical issues.

Before replacing the coil, you should check to see if it is getting the proper voltage during cranking and with the ignition on. During cranking you should get 10+ volts at the #15 terminal of the coil. With the ignition switch on you should get 5+ volts. If your voltage is alright then ohm check the coil. Not sure of the specs for you 924 but the test procedure is in the Haynes manual. If you aren't getting the proper voltage at the #15 post, check your wiring from the starter and ignition switch. One wire is an unresisted circuit from the starter which is powered (10+ volts) during cranking. The other wire is a resisted circuit (5+ volts) which comes from the ignition switch.

Good luck

Dennis
