hey guys, i just put a new timing belt in 22 miles ago and it has snapped tonigh.
i am going to go to the dillership tomorrow. and i'll be bitching big time about the defect timing belt.
any ideas why would it snap? it ran perfectly for the first 15 miles then i guess it skipped a tooth and then it snapped

I posted long ago about the time I put one on and the teeth started comen off oh every few spots around the belt and it finally stopped turnen on the bottem of the crank
there were no teeth to move everything ..
anyway it was a new belt to ..

Sounds like you didn't have it tensioned properly, if it skipped a tooth.
How did you set the tension?

aight, it was tensioned properly but i think i have figured out the problem, one of the bolts on the bottom got unscrewed and was touching the belt, i guess it started stretching cuz of that and finally broke, dillership replaced the belt and i will be puting it in tomorrow
thanx god it's a 924 not 924s or 944 the valves are fine |
