I put it together as a favor for the guy driving the white car... so he can see what his line looks like! _________________ Vaughan Scott

Nice movie Vaughan.
You're a good driver: you hit your apexes and as you track out, I can hear you applying the throttle vigorously. Classic text book racing! Maybe you should package your movies as training films for the newbies.
On the other hand, that white car that you lapped was all over the place. The driver was several feet from the apexes, both before and after you lapped him/her. And as you approached the car, it looked like the driver forgot which foot was the gas. That driver would be in the green run group with CVR PCA.
I also drive a 924 on the track and know the speed it can attain, but as you approached and passed the white car it looked like you had warp engines in your car. You should give that driver some pointers about driving. |

LOL! Thanks!
Comparison points; I've been racing on that track for 7 seasons now. OTOH, I know the other driver is at least in his second season. Another funny point; that white car is nearly as fast as I am in a straightline. Yet his best lap was 5.5s slower than mine in that race.
OTOH, most amusing - his consistency is very poor; reviewing his data on mylaps.com (from the AMB transponder company), I see that my lap times were all within a second, excluding the first lap - all right on 1:21 or 1:22 (last 3 laps, due to short-shifting for sound). He, on the other hand, has laps from 1:26.5 to 1:31.8 (excluding the outliers, again). Clearly has to work on his consistency... if he were turning regular 1:26 laps, I wouldn't have caught him in 10 laps. To be fair, his consistency was better in the other races, but still not all within a second...
Also, when I'm approaching the car - he's trying to let me by quickly and cleanly, since I'm lapping him, so it'll be natural that his driving will look funny when I'm right behind him... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Waterford Hills? A very narrow track, skillfully made even more narrow when you miss every apex by 2 feet. Nice clip. Is that a Capri you're chasing? _________________ F. Celenza DDS

Close - it's actually a Rustang... ITB variety... Waterford is my home track... took 2nd in the ITB Championship last year, and was going for 1st this year, but doesn't look like I'm quite going to make it - run-in with the wall again has cost me too many points, looks like (though it's never say never, still)... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Nice car, I like the graphics.
I ran Waterford Hills briefly one year, when One Lap Of America passed through in '98. I thought the place was pretty neat, like a whole town recreation area that actually included a road course and a kart track. _________________ F. Celenza DDS

We ran the road course at MIS in '99, I'd imagine you race there as well. And I'd guess you go to Gingerman, which I hear is the best one in the area. _________________ F. Celenza DDS

No, actually, I don't bother with MIS - heard too many bad stories about the banking transitions. I did run Gingerman a couple of times, but don't bother anymore - pretty boring track IMO. I've been to Grattan a number of times, but never racing, only for work. Wouldn't likely ever bother racing there, the front straight is too long to ever want to work with. Too easy to lose places to guys who can't drive in the corners but have a big motor.
Mid-O is the one I like, of course it's an excellent track. Beaverun is also much fun, but a bit farther. Still have to get to Road America and Road Atlanta (for the ARRC). Did the Glen once with the Jadczaks, may go back there again someday.
Right now I'm focusing all of my resources on winning the Waterford ITB Championship. Just got the points update; I'm 13 points down now after that last disasterous weekend, but not exactly out of the running either. Just need to hope for something more than just good luck... _________________ Vaughan Scott
