My '80 924 has an annoying vibration in the front end, comes right up through the steering wheel, especially at highway speeds. The car tracks nice and straight and the tires have been balanced and rotated.
Could front wheel bearings be causing my problem? They're probably older than dirt.. |

you can check the bearings quite easily. jack the car up and grab the top and bottom of the tire and try to rock it back and forth. if there's any play at all they're bad. if not they're fine.
if they are what's causing the vibration then they really need replaced. it's usually the tires that will give you vibration in the wheel. try switching them front to back and see if it goes away.

| For several years I had front end vibration at around 60 MPH. Last year I put on a new set of Pirellis and all the vibration is gone. |
