| What type of fuel do you guys use in your 924's? I heard that too low of octane can cause detonation in high compression engines. Last time I did a compression test all the cylinders showed around 140-150 PSI. Does that mean I need to use 91 octane fuel? Also, how would I be able to tell if detonation was occuring? |

Regular 87 octane should be fine, unless you've tweaked the engine at all... I run 89 octane in the racecar, with more advanced ignition timing.

Yeah, seems like you do - those ratings are to old standards, RON rating as I recall... labels at the pump are an average of RON and MON (R+M/2), and therefore lower for a given blend.
Save your money.

| 85 octane is probably adequate for an NA, but for you Turbo owners, be sure you use the highest octane rated fuel available in you area. |
