Well, I finally had a chance to run an autocross this weekend. What a blast!! I have run these in the past but it has been 20 years. Forgot how much fun it was.
I can't believe how well the 924 handles! I raced Type1 VW's and an old (but fast) Toyota Corrola. I always felt they had their quirks but handled well. They handeled nothing like this car. Even with crap tires I can't believe how neutral it steered. The track had 2 long 50mph curves that this car really shined in. If you added throttle it would just drift due to lack of traction and if you lifted it would just suck back in with no jerking or veering. It never wanted to fish tail without being induced and it only plowed under poor braking practice. What a joy to drive!!
Most of you probably allready know these things as you probably drive a little more "spirited" than I do or you have raced yours before. I just wanted to chime in with like minded enthusiast!

Always a pleasure to hear about using the car in the proper way!!
Yeah, there's not much else that is so balance. Remember after all the site 'moto': "The best handling Porsche in stock form". _________________ John

| It's great to hear about somebody else autocrossing, I'm still working the bugs out of my '77 before I try it with the PCA this summer. |

Ya, definetly try to do it. These cars handle nice on the street but they shine on the track!

Just curious, what tires are you using? Do you like them?
I'm shopping, 6 weeks before the first pca event! |

I have horrible tires! I am looking for some replacements now. If you look in the General section you will see were I started a thread on this subject. There are some pretty good responses. I'll let you know what I deside.
