Mounts are on the way. Was wondering if there is a "quick and easy" way to replace. Once saw an article for a BMW 320i where they just unbolted the mount from the car and pushed the strut down out of the fenderwell. That way it was still attached to the lower arm. They replaced the mount and put it back in. Don't remember if they unscrewed the strut-rod bolt first and slowly lifted the car (with no spring compressor). Or if they compressed the spring after removal from fenderwell.

Any experiences out there?

the springs are locked in by the strut mount.

pick you poison on how to replace the mount....

Spring compressor

It would probably be easier to compress the spring after pulling the upper strut assembly from the body , just unbolt the four 10 mm and let the entire assembly swing down so it will clear the fender. Keep in mind the danger of the spring popping when you remove the single strut nut...
By the way an impact works best for quickly spinning the nut off unless the strut has a method for securing the rod.

Be sure of how you inted to do this so safety is observed at all times.

No spring compressor

I'm not sure about this.

If I rememeber right it is possible to loosen the strut nut while the strut is supported by a floor jack, this will let you ease the tension of the spring and let the entire assembly drop.

Mount the new mount and reverse the procedure

The trick is to stabbing the strut back in the hole as you jack the assembly back up while also setting the spring in the perch top and bottom.
