How do you post pictures here on the board? I`ve tried on numerous occasions with no luck. Yes I did read the forum faq. If I want to post a picture that I upload to oh lets say my website on geocities how the hell do I get it on the post instead of linking to it? |

| All you have to do is type your correct URL and the highlite it and click on the "Img*" button on the control panel above you messege or put a "" after it. Do not add the quotation marks. |

to post pics geocities pages don't really work, problem with this software,
but you would type (withought dashes) [-i-m-g-] then the URL of the photo then [-/-i-m-g-] _________________ 3 928s, |

sign up for an account here at msn groups. http://groups.msn.com/home.msnw?pgmarket=en-us
upload your picture, then right click on it and goto propertise, highlight and copy the adress of the picture. then come to the board, and click the img button once, paste the adress of the picture after the .
the problem with using geocities is that they no longer allow you to hotlink images. inother words you cant post pictures that are hosted on there websites on non geocities webpages. i believe angelfire and tripod do the same thing. _________________ 1987 Zermatt Silver Porsche 924S <-- Sold in Nov. I'll let anyone put pics on my web server and link to them if they ever want. Just let me know. _________________ '77 - 924 NA

Guys, I`ve tried entering in a whole lot of different things...but I`ve never had the magic wand. If you go to my 2nd message in the beginning of this thread and quote me, you can see my latest failed attempt.
I was starting to see that the extension needs to end in a jpg format. But whenever I put a pic. in my Geocities account and saved it, the extension was html. I looked for a way to bypass that. I haven`t been able to find a way around that, so I don`t believe one exists.
Thanks Liz, and T-Duck. I needed someone to confirm that there is an issue with geocities....I thought I was going nuts!
Phil, I sent you a message...

It worked when I tried it
Ooops, it only worked for me because I went to you site first, it loaded OK there, then when I tried it here the pic was in the cache so it showed up .
Sorry,

Linking a Geocities picture:
Open your "file manager" from the www.geocities.com page. You may need to sign in first, but it will be on the right in the "Advanced Toolbox".
Choose the "Upload Files" button on the right side of the screen, and upload the picture file you intend to use.
After uploading the picture, locate it in your file list.
Check the box next to your picture and choose the "Rename" button at the top or bottom of the screen.
Rename the file with a .txt extension. Example: picture.txt
On this board, link it as such:

where "sample" is replaced with your username, and "picture.txt" is replaced with the filename you want to use. _________________ Jon Furst |

The above picture was linked from Geocities. You can see the filename by right-clicking it, and choosing "Properties". _________________ Jon Furst |
