Hi all, I have spent about a month now thinking about getting a body kit for my 924N/A... but not a wide body...just a different front and rear bumper, sideskirts..
the idea is there but the money are not in the wallet...anyone have done those upgrades yet? how much did it cost? and how hard was the installation...
another thing is interrior...any ideas what can i do with it so it can look nice? |

| Bolt on body kits are a pain in the ass. Rarely do they fit up correctly and rarely are they made of steel so avoid at all costs. Buy some new rims and low profile tires to make the best visual impact.The most effective interior treatment is to get some lightweight racing seats and maybe a new steering wheel.The seats will be a weight savings and look sharp too. |

Agreed Daniel...you might want to consider dropping the body modifications. I've seen these kits...
1. Even tightening a screw a little too much leaves a wobbly, unprofessional backyard look.
2. It probably drops resale value.
3. It puts holes in the chassis. Bad for rust.
4. Increased weight; slows it down.
5. Increased turbulence; changes the coefficient of drag. And on these cars the coefficient of drag was really good.
My unwanted advice (I have lots of this to give away!) is:
1. Get a 931 spoiler.
2. Get a 931 hood. Or a 937 scoop. Or both.
3. Put on 931 lower side panels.
4. Listen to Body Shop Rob on the wheels and seats and steering wheel.
5. Try finding Porsche embossed interior door skins. Very sexy.
6. If you do a repaint, get the 944 side trim used...new it's way expensive, but you can find the used stuff easy.

| I saw some pictures of a 924 with an Audi 90 front end looked very sharp. However it requires the removal of the shock absorbing bumber. If you get in anaccident it will disintagrate. It looked great but I would pass on it. I agree with the other posts about bolt on plastic parts AVOID THEM!!! There is a fiberglass rear valance that I saw in a Performance Products catalog that looked good though. You could also add a vented nose pannel and a GT spoiler on the back. |

| Plastic dash covers are lousy, I bought one and Im still regreting it. Dash cant be repaired tried that too. I like the looks of the 150 mhp spedometer added about 3 months ago. Bought a rear cargo matt looks great. Thinking about replacing the carpet and having the seats redone. |

Switch the position of the speedo and tach. All sports cars should have the tach in the center
Tinting the windows does wonders for the looks and interior temp.

I'm trying to update the interior myself. Out with the brown & beige and in with black carpet and a black/gray paint for the dash and vinyl. I swapped out the A/C switch and replaced the 3 console gauges with white faced VDO's from Summit Racing (inexpensive). Next is to replace the dash gauge faces with some of those units for sale on E-bay. That should at least bring my 78 up to 90 standards!!!

I got the front bumper (almost) finished. I just need to install my new driving lights, and fabricate 2 grills to go over the turn signal/light area (also where I am going to have my air intake duct). Let me know what you think.
