Hi,
I was wondering how worthwhile historical plates would be for my 78 924. The odometer doesn't work, but I probably only drive it under 1000 miles a year and its only a weekend car at best.
What are the advantages and fees involved in the state of CA?
Thanks. |

I can't comment about historical plates, particularly in CA, but if you haven't already, you should insure the car on classic car insurance. I use Hagerty Insurance for all of mine. For example, my 1980 Porsche 928 Euro, insured for $6500 full replacement value costs less than $300 per year. I get complete collision, fire, theft, and road service. Plus, since it's a "classic car", if anything did happen, say a fender bender, Hagerty will work to replace it with original parts, not just cheap aftermarket replacement. Car must be 25 years or older, so you qualify. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Well, the advantage in Colorado is you don't have to have the car tested for emissions. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |
