Just a couple quick things, #1 being do we have any special dietary needs we need to accomodate from the Team Kitchen? Basic menu can be expected... coffee and likely some breakfast burritos or the like to start, then burgers and grilled chicken breast sandwiches and rollups and the like for lunch... plus I HAVE to have my pasta salad before I race, no heavy food for me pre-race... will likely bring the bulk over in advance, simply to avoid having to shop during the weekend... Anything else?
I got my radio (fixed thru-hole mount) antenna this evening... super-cool, gonna try to mount it for this weekend... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Thank God our PORSCH-IT comes equipped with a grill! Basically if there is food put out for my guys, we'll eat it simply put. Thank God we also have a coffee maker on board the PORSCHE-IT. We'll make sure that it's stocked with fresh coffee, cups, sugar, etc.
I can't think of anything else. Would you like us to bring some water, Red Bull, soda, etc or are you covering that?
Last time we were in the area Ryogi and the FLAG Motorsports gang ate at this really dive chicken resturant and it was great! I could try to locate their number and maybe we can reserve a couple of tables there. It's very reasonably priced, and about 5 minutes from the Hotel too. We could meet up there for our Friday night dinner. Is everyone (who is going) ok with that?
On mounting the antenna from someone who just mounted two of them - if you going to mount on the roof behind the sunroof (not sure if yours has one or not) there is an inner structure of metal and the outside skin of the roof. You'll need to drill out the inner metal of the structure to get to the outside sheet from inside the car. What we did was to cut a small square opening of less than 2 inch square the make our final hole about the size of a nickel. If you don't have a sun roof the install is much much easier. _________________ Jeremy "I'm Faster than My Dad" Jadczak

Thanks for the warning on the grill - we were planning on bringing my new portable one!!
I'll bring my large gatorade-style cooler filled w/ Gatorade. Probably also one large cooler full of food. Since we're going through Canada, I'd rather not bring beer, etc... so if you can plan some frosty adult beverages, that'd be cool... we can probably get a flat of soda or two, no prob.
The chicken place sounds excellent! Yeah, reservations might be a requirement, given the size of our crowd...
Thanks for the warning on the antenna... we'll probably mount ours on the front of the roof... but I'd expect a double-skin... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Ryogi, check you private email when you get a chance. If you don't mind swinging through Horsham before going to the Glen Roger and I will wait for you on Friday morning.
If not, than we'd like to get to the Glen in the early afternoon. I've got to figure out when we can actually get into the track. I guess it's in the Entry Supps.
We've taken care of most of the "To Do" items already. The only thing left is have Vaughan figure out how best that interior safety net is supposed to hang, wire up his data recoder, install his ISSAC H&N restraint system and install the video camera mount(s). Roger, I and anyone else can unload the PORSCHE-IT and that takes about 2 hours. _________________ Jeremy "I'm Faster than My Dad" Jadczak

Yeah... we're planning on a 7AM departure from the Detroit area, so assuming approximately 8hr for travel (including customs and food), we should be there by 3PM. My wife insists that we not drive like a getaway car, and we've got all day... look forward to being there at a decent time to get our prep work done... _________________ Vaughan Scott

I see a problem
The registration is open 7:00 - 11:00 am and 6:00pm - 10:00pm. No one will be at the registration building, I think, in the afternoon on Friday.
http://www.nescca.com/registration/Supps/04-RS-186-S.pdf
( Vaughan, you need to drive one more cross-side street up from main gate (toward west?) and then you find the building. The building is outside of the track fences. )
I wonder if we can work cars on reg. building's parking lots or Hotel's lots in case we may not be there on time. _________________ R.I.P.:a 924 ITA race car |

I knew this might pose as a problem. We'd like to get the PORSCHE-IT in the gates on Friday. We also want to get as close to the pits as possible so I'll talk to Roger and see if maybe we can leave earlier. Otherwise we'll be in line for registration at 6 PM and roll the dice on paddock space. I'll need everyone to send me an email with their cell phone number so we can corrdinate once we get up there. For people leaving later it may make sense to just go to the hotel and we can move back our dinner reservations from 8PM for earlier. Since the practice doesn't start until after lunch we would have time to get acquainted on Sat morning.
But I think Roger and I will try to get an earlier start.
BTW we have a reservation and our own room at Curley's Chicken House on Lake road just minutes from the Holiday Inn in Horseheads, NY. I have number to the resturant if you want it. _________________ Jeremy "I'm Faster than My Dad" Jadczak

Sweet!
Back to the coffee... we're major caffeine addicts and coffee snobs over here... do you have just a pot for the burner, or an electric machine? If the latter, is it a basket-style (Mr. Coffee like) or cone filter? Would you be offended if we brought some HD coffee and/or electric machine along? This team doesn't do cold-boot easily without administering large quantities of Starbucks or the like... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Not sure about all that. It's got a coffee pot and a basket. Not sure it's coned or not. Bring what ya want because the PORSCHE-IT has plenty of electric outlets. If you have a card table you may want to bring that to set up some sort of Starbucks style coffee station. _________________ Jeremy "I'm Faster than My Dad" Jadczak
