Check out the article on the GTS Challenge at www.theracesite.com. Our Man in Michigan, Mr. Vaughan Scott was mentioned in the article as well as other 944 drivers like Denny Voss and of course the article was written by another 944 driver, Greg Steen. Boy with the coverage were getting from the Race Site, as well as Grassroots Motorsports magazine (Even if they did mispell my last name) one day soon there will be far too many 924 racers out there because of all the excitement building. Ladies and Gentleman, lets build those 924 for the track and come out and play with the big dogs!!!! Can anyone argue with me why the Porsche 924 is not a great car to run in. It's fairly reliable, well balanced, and slippery down the straights. In addition, you can run with SCCA in ITA and production, NASA with GTS Challenge and 944 Cup, you can also run in vintage, Porsche Club, etc. There are just too many places to race and with little changed to our existing racers we could run a lot of tracks and series whenever and wherever we wanted. Won't you join us!!!
Vaughan it's time to build that second car for your wife! Everyone else, get to work!! The first track event are less than four months away (well four months for most of us freezing our asses off in the Northeast)!!!
See you out there!

I know, I know! Our first race event is less than 2 months away, March 12th at Nashville Speedway, and your first event (in VA) is only next month!!! Feb 21st at VIR!!! Will you be ready??
Me, I was still driving through snow garbage today on the way home... yuck... gonna be a while before I can think about getting the block to the shop.
Not to mention the intervening Wife B-day coming soon... have to figure that one out yet... I wonder if she'd accept a nice new Sparco seat? _________________ Vaughan Scott

I would love to go to VIR but it's too long a ride and probably too cold still. Besides were using that weekend to work on our second car. In fact I am trying to get that week off to try to build it all in that one week (we did it before). We are trying to get the parts list together and working on a plan of attack. The block went out this week to get milled and looked over. Dad is rebuilding the motor and should have it done by February. Jason down at Paragon is gonna have a heart attack when he see's the list I am putting together for him to fill out
You should get your wife the perfect gift: Panoz driving school expierience. Or how about the April Nelson Ledges double SCCA school? It would be on the smoother and recently paved track? Were trying to convince one of our crew guys to go to that school with our exisiting #53.
We really need to work on names of our two cars or at least get a friggin number assigned to the new car.

Don't forget E & F Prod! But it looks like there really is no place for the F Prod in GTS Challenge except up against the turbos and uber-cars.
Alas, my car won't be ready this year. Too much money had to go to different things (like the street car and dental work), and too much time has been devoted to working to pay for everything. I decided my time would be better spent working on a GT1 car and learning all I could, while not rushing the work on the 924 We should be able to put the car on the podium at the Runoffs this year.
And the trade for doing the crewing will be in work on the 924.
Hopefully I will still get my schools in this year. I was not planning on car payments until next year, so getting the TDI totalled really crunched the available cash for the race car. OTOH, the new A5 TDI is really, really cool!
I also cannot in good conscience recommend a double school. I know my region is leaning on MVR not to do that. There just isn't enough track or teaching time. |
