So tell me more about this "motor bike", is it some sort of engine mod?

Power to weight is key for acceleration. I for one am not really concerned about acceleration from the 924. I would rather improve the handling and fuel economy, which weight reduction will do rather well, and relatively cheaply up to a point.

I note, the RX7 I am building will be a killer in the 1/4 mile(2300lbs 400hp/450ftlbs), and even competently handle, because of it's weight balance and suspension. But I'm still getting the 924 as a daily driver.

I've always been a big sport bike fan...think about it. For less than 10k you can have a vehicle that is very close to what is raced on the track... almost 150hp, unbeleavable acceleration and 180 mph top speed !!! But I sold my sport bike a while back, and after seeing a couple of people killed in 'minor' crashes...crashes that would only be a fender bender in a car. After seeing my son spend a month in the hospital and his orthopedic Dr. call m-cycles "orthopedic training devices", I think I'll stick to 4 wheels. My son, dead foot and all, is back riding moto-cross...I'm right there with him, but I dont know about another 'crotch rocket'

Yikes guys relax. First to qualify myself to Ryan and anyone else. I have been a 924 owner and lover for 15 years and the first 5 years of ownership of my specific 924 was my Father. So I have actually been with my car its entire life of 20 years. (I.E. 1982 924) I have also driven multiple 931s have had friends with them own a 83 944 (now parting) and have friends with other 944s and Porsches. That said I will now continue. Ryan I know you are likely much older than I am but should not have much more time with your 924 Turbo since the 931 was only in America since 1980... so you could have two years on me.

I admit the 931 is a better car as far as engineering goes. Is is quicker than my NA 924. No. My car has some minor modifications that I think you would approve of. Also I never over inflate the performance of my car. 0-60 is about 9 sec now. With cam, port polish, intake work and exhaust. Was not to costly and I am happy wiht the performance. Many of us are just looking for a little more. Some are a bit more over the top. No need to bash them though. I do not agree with cutting the cars up or painting them some wild ways... but to each his own. I like mine mostly stock in appearance. You should temper your comments a bit. If you do not like the looks of a car... say that... do not say it looks like a P.O.S. Some one likely spent a lot of their time on it and is likely proud of their work.

I also drive my 924 daily. It is a bitch on the hot days since the AC no longer works... but I love the car otherwise. Cool mornings like today are a joy! I just hate all those trucks kicking up rocks wrecking my new paint!

Oh well. Here is the thing. There are minor performance gains to be had at reasonable costs. As long as new guys know this then all should be well. Now the 924 can get more serious get up and go by swapping out pistons and cranks and such but why not pop for a 924S at that point? Unless you are like some here that want to resurect and old girl and have a sleeper. Some love the looks of the 924 and just want to have their cake and eat it to. I myself am happy with my performance now... well once I tune it properly. Had a fuel pressure issue due to WUR but think it is now curred.

Peace guys. We all love our cars... don't need to love each others.

Er
