Regardless of your love of restoration I would not recommend this car. Early cars like this were very basic if not optioned up by to the original purchaser. From what I can tell from the pics this is a 4 speed car without AC, Possibly doesn't have sway bars either.
I would suggest finding another car that has better equipment from the factory.

Best of luck!

Oh you’re 100% right. Should be fun 😂

“Fun” is a strong word 😂😂 but I’ll be keeping everyone updated with the highs and lows and probably asking for advice and parts as I go 😂

bobbycustom, Don't let all the negative people bother you. Buy it, get it running, have fun with it.

To me it looks like some kind of a special edition, with the funky interior, the 944 body pieces, and the mix of the 924/944 stuff.

I'm probably more of the same mind as you, Bobby, on rescuing cars that others might call "too far gone." This one isn't that bad, if we're seeing most of the rust in the pictures, and especially given that you're planning more of a rat rod / track car. The rust at the top of the windshield is kind of a big deal, but within the reach of even a determined amateur with a welder like myself - shouldn't be a show-stopper. It definitely needs the right wheels to go with the 944 bodywork. I'd be looking at engine swapping (if it's blown to begin with and that's not a stretch in terms of skill/ability) or forced induction. I could see having fun in a car like this, stripped out to drop weight, and maybe with Webers in place of the original intake setup, but it just seems you're boxed into a pretty low power level on the original engine without forced induction. Anyway, go get it, and hopefully we see a real transformation!

Few updates.

So I bought it, if I didn’t mention that. Took a day to give it a once over and get it running, another day to get it running smoothly and replace all fluids and get all electrics working, day three had it all sorted and I took it for a drive. It has a seized seized wheel cylinder but was good enough to run up and down the street.
All sounds good and healthy as far as engine, clutch assy and drivetrain goes. Has an exhaust leak from the manifold outlet flange.. I ran the fluids through coffee filters - all clear 🤷‍♂️ Gear shifts feel great, clutch feels great.

Fitted the passenger seat from the Supra to use for now. No idea what I’m going to do for front seats long term.
