I need to re-read the dash removal instructions. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & euro g31 transaxle. Water-cooled intercooler |

Short update.
There is an OEM dash available from Porsche, but only in black. EUR1200'ish or so.
For the Rendes thing 2000 Polish Zloty is like EUR450 which is a good price. They asked similar price for reconditioning an old dash.
I recently bought a new OEM dash from Porsche for my MY84 911 - it's a different league. If 924 dash is made same way, it leaves all the aftermarket behind. Full metal structure with laminated foam'ish fabric and leather as one. Then cut out to shape together. Looks like warm pressed and glued at once to the metal structure.
Funny enough, the 911 dash was less than 924 :-/ _________________ ---

If you want the new dash for 924, you may want to know there is a company in Poland that is manufacturing them, and others are just reselling.
Kind of unofficial info, but if you reach them, you should get a quote.

I know this is an older thread, but how much was the Werks carpet set? Did it include padding (to replace the cracked plastic/vinyl stuff)? _________________ Hoop

This is the quote I received from Thomas in Dec 2019
Hi Chuck
Brown carpets are on stock. A complete set is 1,199 USD
The shipping costs are 449 USD : This could be cheaper , if we can send to a local company.
( privat address shipping is much more expensive )
I'm not sure about your second question but visit this page for pics:
https://werk924.com/shop/armaturenbretter-dash-boards/
The dashboard they supply is top quality. I also purchased the carpet that goes around the shifter--again top quality.
I was hoping to get a beige carpet kit -- no such luck . I think they have black, brown, grey and not sure what else.
The website has prices for the carpet sets; it's the shipping that's nuts.
If I buy a carpet set, it will be through werk924. Again top quality. I'll probably go with brown. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & euro g31 transaxle. Water-cooled intercooler |

Dragging this thread out of the bit bucket... I realize that it references the new production dash from Porsche... I thought I posted a note on that, maybe in just the general forum, but I did get one and installed in my '82 931, money well spent.
But really brought this out of retirement to mention that a new/reworked source of carpets seems to have surfaced over on Rennlist... seems there was a source called Appbiz who also offered full carpet, for the 944... they haven't started production back up, as they're going to be making some tweaks and improvements first, but the webpage is up:
https://www.jwestengineering.com/944-Carpet-Kits_c_119.html
Which begs the question - does anyone have a good accounting of how the carpets varied across the years and models?
I have a surprisingly decent salvaged set in my 931, but it's definitely one of the things holding back the interior restoration from really being prime, without reservations... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Some replies from J West Engineering regarding the fit of their kits to the 924... in general, yes, but two caveats. He doesn't have the carpet for the sides of the center console and door pockets, and he's only doing the rear carpet with the smaller bump for the compact spare... so any with the full size spare will be out of luck still... _________________ Vaughan Scott
