I have put on the 944 front fenders and spoiler. I will be ordering the smaller of the rear flares.
My problem is that I want to retain the drums and am looking for spacers.
Anybody have any idea what width I would need.
Thanks |

I have a 1977 924 GT. I bought it in Aug. 2002. {A day befor my 21st birthday..... uummmm maybe a slightly emotional reason.} My mechanic gave me a GT catalog. It has pics, prices and parts numbers. Has some 944 stuff as well. It is 762 kb. {The whole catalog is 2294 kb} I can send it to anyone. I have 924 GT widebody front fenders, 924 GT rear fender flairs, 924 hood scoop, Carrera GT front bumper and a Carrera GT rear bumper {These were sent to me by a rennlist member from Germany}. The car has been lowered twice since I bought it, It's about 3.5 inches off the ground. It has "racing" (the company) aluminium rims with 225/50Z 15 inch Potenza's on the front and 245/50Z 15 inch Comp TA tires on the back. The suspension is the crown of my car, Koni yellow sport struts are the key. I can't put my hand between any fender and tire. I can't feel body role at all. Only down side I will wear out the ball joints about 3 times as fast as other stock cars.

The work involved mount the rear flares for the GT look is not for the faint hearted. Yesterday we cut up the stock fender openings about 3 inches. Yes, we cut them with a plasma cutter. The inner wheel well was retained after the other body section was removed. You have to chisel out the welds. Lots of hammering. We then sliced up the inner wheel well and bent it upwards to meet the outside body. Cut out the excess.
Today Tuesday we will weld the inner wheel well with the exterior body shell. I will then grind down the welds and fiberglass over it.
I took pictures so look for them in the near future.

I heard, the easiest way to separate the spot welds ,was to drill them , removes the metal that is attached . |

Drilliing out the welds would be time consumming and who wants to work on the ground facing up while drilling. Sorry I am not fortunate to have a lift.
Before you drill them you have to find them. Cutting seemed like less work. You would have to cut the metal anyway.
Yesterday we welded all the wheel wells and today we will bondo the outside of the remaining fender for a neat job. Next is the fiberglassing of the inside wheel well. |

Whats the 924 look like if you put a 944 turbo front end on it, while leaving the rear stock? Anyone have a picture? _________________ 79 Porsche 924 2.0L 5-Speed Flowmaster 40 |

the 944 turbo front end wont fit on the 924 w/o the fenders, headlights, and header panel so the back would look alittle funny w/o cgt boxes or a 944 rear _________________ 3 928s, |

Thats what I mean the front fenders and valance off a 944. I guess you could cut the valance to make up for the narrow 924 fenders and fiber or weld it back together *shrugs I saw a kit on a 924 with a 944 turbo front end that was BEAUTIFUL.
The D-Body is pretty sweet if you don't paint alot of graphics on it, I'd consider putting a D-body kit on mine if I had the cash _________________ 79 Porsche 924 2.0L 5-Speed Flowmaster 40

You can not weld the valence together..'I know I just cut my
944 valence into 5 pieces...' _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
