Yes
Weight reductions include:
- Fiberglass hood
- Plexiglass rear hatch
- FRP (fiberglass reinforce plastic) racing bucket seats
- GTS headlight
- Removed rear seat
- Removed sound deadening truck and engine bay mat
- Removed radio and speaker
- Removed spare tire
- Removed tool kit
- Light weight battery http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=29868&highlight=battery (No problem so far)
- MSDS headers and exhaust line
An extra -13lbs to come with ready to drop in Plexiglass door and quarter window.
Add 29lbs for the Redline roll bar. |
Wow, so mine should be pretty close to yours then.
Differences are:
I have fiberglass front and rear.
Stock hatch
Front bumper delete
Megasquirt w/sidedrafts and EDIS ignition
944 front and rear suspension with large sway bars
Heavy, cheap 944 wheels and tires.
lightweight carpet (maybe 5-7lbs total)
Stock battery. _________________ Stefan

According to my scale the hatch glass is 48lbs with no spoiler or wiper motor and the plexiglass with frame is 21 lbs, a diference of 27lbs.
My stock hood was 44lbs and the fiberglass one with the front latch is 19lbs, a difference of 25 lbs.
I also forgot to mention the alu flywheel, an other -12lbs _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

So weight distribution stays the same, give or take a pound or 2, are you sure the rear hatch weighs 48lbs??? there is a diference of 4lbs between the hatch and front bonnet, it sure seems that theres more than a 4lbs difference between the 2.

I was refering to an empty standard 924 gas tank actually. Im sure some savings could be aquired here. Does anyone know how much litres the full tank holds?

If it's less dense, why doesn't petrol float on water?

It is not a direct bold-on, you need to customize the bracket on the 931.
It is from a Diahatsu. _________________ 937 trackday car
