Just weld a couple of straps to it and pick up either the inlet manifold bolts or the cam cover bolts, or both if you are worried. Got to be easier then making a new rail... _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

I know everyone says they get addicted to the "upgrade" bug and wanna keep spending and adding to make it more powerful, but I sincerely am not concerned about that.
I'm going to start looking and thinking about different injectors... I stole the entire ford factory wiring harness that was on the injectors right up to the firewall, and with those free connectors and wiring, i figure i'd like more with the same ends... but when i get more time I'll research the type i need.
Lordco should carry them locally here, i just need to find higher performance injectors that have the same connector and threading size and i'm in business (plus my megasquirt box) then i'll just need a case of beer and a weekend to finish her up.
After the injection & ignition are replaced, i'll get the body all cleaned up, install a nice stereo and have an awesome commuter vehicle.
Remaining?
- Find & Buy injectors
- Find & Buy trigger wheel & sensor
- Wait for megasquirt to arrive
- Find out what other sensors i'll need (engine temp etc?)
Wire it all up and listen to her purr... _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

Injectors are generally interchangeable easily so you could just leave the injectors for now and upgrade later. The problem is that all your tuning will go out the window when you change over. Not a major issue but annoying.
I'm looking at changing to MS2 which will cause similar problems but I don't know if I can be bothered!

still not entirely sure myself if i grasp the difference between ms 1 and MS 2
I know that it sounds like the best bet is 2.0...
I'd rather tune once, so I'll be looking for an appropriate injector that'll just thread straight into this tube... i mean, i wanna keep this as simple as possible since i'm not the most mechanically inclined person in the world.
But, electronics are my thing. I was repairing and troubleshooting electronics at a very young age, took many many classes on it and can handle a soldering iron/gun like some do a paint brush.

Hi-impedance Bosch injectors that are that small are plentiful and cheap. Just buy the injectors cup inserts from Endwrench (Todd) so you can pop them right in. If you're trying to find an injector that will thread into the head, then you're out of luck.
I'll ship out my 42lb/hr set for cheap if you want them. They're way overkill, but you can still tune them in easily enough. The advantage of a smaller injector (that is still "big enough") is that you'll have more latitude and you could potentially idle leaner and more smoothly than with bigger injectors.
Good luck! _________________ 1980 931S

I have the alan key 12" injector inserts that go into the head and injector seals, they appear like they'll fit without any issue...
just wondering what size/types will thread into the fuel rail. _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

The injectors should have a rubber O ring to seal them at both ends, they should jsut push in and pull out of the rail, and be retained by a metal clip.
You need head bungs that are bored to take the seals. _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...
