I've been visiting this site for some time, but just registered now because I noticed this topic.
This sounds like a lot of fun! Some weekend in April will be perfect. It will be a pleasant break from carving up the winding roads at Mt. Rainier, where I work in the summer |

So are any of you Washington people interested in joining a North Western watercooled club?

I'm in Bellingham.
1.) I'm down for the watercooled club.
2.) I hope to have my car back from Arizona (see "Raising Arizona" post above) and in good running order in time for that Washington run in which case, I'm down for that too.
3.) $25 an hour at a dedicated Porsche shop? And you're COMPLAINING?! The shop in Bellingham charges $85 an hour and the one that my car is at in Tucson charges $80 an hour. I've seen FORD garages that charge over $70 an hour. $25 is a dream.
4.) It's a well-known fact that even if you do manage to find a respectable Porsche garage, it's like twisting their nipples trying to get them to work an something water-cooled. There are self-proclaimed Porsche mechanics that would lift the hood of our cars and scratch their heads. I've seen it. I agree with everyone else that you're better off learning how to work on it yourself. Just don't make your car worse like I did.
