| Good thinking Smoothie! To check the bypass valve: open the hood with the engine running, crack the throttle quickly and close it quickly. Do this several times. You should hear a click coming from the bypass valve's piston each time the throttle is opened or closed. |

Well guys, I had a few minutes this evening, so I finally did a few minutes worth of work on my motor (has been in an engine stand for months).
Guess what? The turbo that I bought from my Porsche dealer had the bypass valve installed BACKWARDS!!
No wonder I couldn't get more than 4 or 5 PSI of boost! Mine had to have boost in order to seal the bypass and is also the reason that it did not click when blipping the throttle. |
