HI All,

Many thanks for the tips. Based on this and the previous loonngg thread, it seems I have a problem with the WUR and / or Fuel Distributor.

Update to what I have checked and / or replaced :

New fuel lines and hoses
New fuel filter
Fuel pump relay works OK - fuel output is >750cc outlined in Haynes (for 30secs)
Spark is strong - new coil, points, condenser, leads and plugs
Reset air sensor arm to the 0.lmm gap
Checked rubber intake boots for air leaks - a few minor abrasions, but nothing detrimentally leaky!
Throttle plates / idle screw all cleaned and OK
Timing set per Haynes (statically).
New battery (heavy duty)
Replaced wiring to starter motor (some chaffing evident)
erm..think thats it...

My problem seems to lie with intermittent fuel to the injectors (i have had the lines of the fuel distributor and cranked then engine for nothing to appear out of the exit ports!)- I DO get fuel and a decent spray pattern if I manually lift the sensor arm whilst cranking.

As I lack the pressure equipment to measure systems pressures, cold and warm pressures - and tips from you guys previously have identified that my problem is *probably* with the WUR and / or fuel distributor.

Hope thats it anyway..

Ian

P.S. Car *was* running OK (at least startign and idling fine) before Christmas.

Thanks Nick, I'll get back to you on that. I finally managed to unscrew the sump plug (after hammering on a 16mm spanner!) so change the fuel / oil mixture - so will get back to you over the weekend.

Thanks

Ian
