Well if you run enough stagger it would corner just fine, but then it's going to fight you in the straights.

I am not the one to ask on the fuel pump..if you have an external pump it will be on the inside of the rear, passenger wheel well. Just behind the wheel.

Damn, this sounds like fun!! I like the "hick" rules. They should be fun to play with for atleast the first couple years before everyone get wise

If you run the 1978 in your sig then you would also have the option of running either the 5 speed snail or the 4 speed audi unit. this could be quite an advantage in gearing. You want to find a gearing that works in a single gear with most tracks. Preferably wound out at the end of the straight entering the corner. You gotta keep us posted on this!

The 78 has the 4 speed. Most of the guys at the track are running in 3rd gear and hitting about 135 km/hr on the straights and are up to 6000-6500. rpm.

Everyone that is racing there now is using 5 speed manuals. A few guys are shifting into 2nd in the corners.

I have done some rough calculations and bought a smaller diameter tire to race with because my 3rd gear would be a quite abit higher then the rest. I will be running 185/60/14's vs the stock 195/70/14 which is quite a drop.

It is very "hick" style racing, but... the track is 5 mins from my house and it's only $10.00 to race each day. The only road course taht I could run in is 4 hrs away and I would need a lawyer to help translate the 40 page rule book

The car should be race ready in less then 2 weeks..just waiting on a fender and new struts/shocks to arrive.

Cheap and close is the best! My local track is about 1/2hr away, but I'm lucky in that it's a road course...
