I currently have for my NA to turbo project

Boost gauge
Water temp gauge
Oil Temp gauge
Oil Pressure gauge

And have room for two more, im thinking perhaps two of the following

EGT gauge
A/F gauge (currently have a digital version connected to JAW) and megasquirt
Fuel pressure gauge(electrical cabin mounted)

The dyno tuner place wanted me to drill 4 holes to mount 4 EGt gauges for them to tune with in my BAE manifold, but said they may be able to get away with one, any recommendations on this and the gauges?

If it's tuned properly then they are just distractions....

good point . For piece of mind they continually update me on the status of the engine . Drop or rise in fuel pressure may indicate pressure regulator about to fail or fuel pump failing resulting in lean or rich condition. Egt would help tuning . Good point though maybe I'll use the space fir my sweet alfa Romeo cup holder best holder ever!

Yep, I agree with Rich.

I`ll look at my oil temp or pressure when cruising or just after very heavy driving. Honestly have never really seen my boost gauge while under boost. It`s just for the passenger`s amusement as I`m hanging onto the wheel and watching where the F I`m going, very quickly.

Then can see the boost later when I replay the data log. BTW, with the JAW, slowest display rate is 8Hz, and will only be readable on a steady throttle anyway. Running a TE WBo2 now with no display, it`s simply not needed. I occasionally use a LED DVM display (velcro`d to dash) on the 2nd programmable output, set for 1-2 V out corresponding to 10-20 AFR, for initial tuning on a new fuel, E10 or Boost 98. E85 and full flex fuel capability coming soon.

Seriously, a G tech on the dash is a useful tuning tool and also fun to watch.

Gotta get a later unit so can store and also datalog.

If you have room for two more gauges, I'd see if you could combine those spaces and install a MegaView display or something along those lines so you can monitor MegaSquirt without a laptop.

Uh, no. I was thinking of something like this:

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/lcdash-digital-touchscreen-dash-display-for-megasquirt-p-167.html

Also, IMHO, what you need is not tuning, but monitoring. Tuning you can do after the drive is finished or with a passenger.

MegaTunix is a decent solution since I think Linux should make for a better carputer operating system.

Otherwise there are Palm emulators for Windows CE that will allow you to use the Palm-based MegaSquirt monitoring and tuning software.

IMO, you do not need to drill 4 EGT taps on the manifold. For the power level and tuning that will be done it's just not needed. If you were trying to squeeze every last HP out of the car and were running it razor thin on timing and fuel, then yes.

You should get a LC-1 or AEM UEGO wideband air/fuel ratio gauge and 1 EGT port.
