We just got accepted into the June 19-20 "Capitol Offense" race at Summit Point WV.
This is a race for $500 cars (not including safety equipment).

Anybody done one of these races? Any advice?

i have no advice to offer, despite the fact ill probably be on a team for the PBIR Lemons in December, if allot of if's work out.

I will say your website left me in tears, and my beverage darn near ended up decorating my monitor (but luckily i have a good deflection impulse.)

consider your team to have at least one fan...

I really wanted to go for a 924 or 944, but the other team members were not quite convince it would be a good choice.

The Volvo 850 wagon is a tough car, 5-cyl engine, and a fair amount of power (168 hp), but it is FWD, which would not be my choice...

I guess they would crush us, or buy it for $500 if we showed up in this?

Apparently, the roll cage for the ReVolvo was finished today. I'll post pics tonight...

The main hoop took over 12-feet of tubing!

Will probably work fine if you are prepared, a 850 has performed really good in similar competitions over here!

Hey Guys -

We successfully completed the TrackDaze "test event" on Saturday at Summit Point, Shenandoah Circuit without having too many issues with our 850 Wagon.

I blew the heater core on my second lap,and the windows steamed up and dumped hot coolant (mostly water) on my feet. I had a fun time trying to see out the window enough to pit out. We got that fixed pretty quick by bypassing the heater core behind the engine. We had to drill multiple drain holes in the floor pan for drains.

3rd gear started "crunching" abut half way through the day, but we just ignored it and kept driving.

All in all, we put about 7 hours of hard driving on the car. Need to bring ear plugs next time. That 5-cylinder un-muffled exhaust note is deafening!

I didn't know it, but have a Facebook page with 70 fans and growing! Photos and videos posted there.

i did lemons NE 09 and it is so much fun! in a 97 Saturn twin cam

tips for a newbie lemoner:

just go out and do laps- with no penalties. dont worry about lap times too much and speeds. the beginning of the race is he hardest with the most cars on the track.

we are doing it again this year in a 924S and hence why i am here; for info.

good luck it is so much fun!
