| Hi everybody. my lovely lovely '87 924S is showing the usual signs of wear in the seats. (the vinyl is pulling away from the cloth centers) I was wondering if there was a place that I could send the covers to have the vinyl sides replaced, and the cloth centers cleaned, and returned to me looking as good as new... It would really make my car complete... |

| I like Alex's idea, he took the fabric off of his seats, bought a sheet of vinyl, and used the original fabric as a pattern... I might try this with leather. |

| someone once told me that if you take the seat covers off of the seat, and run them to a boat/car upholstry place, they will sew the seams up for about $20.00, but unfortunatly, mine are so torn, I need to replace the vinyl. I have no clue how much it'll cost, but I'll let you know where and how much I got it done for when I do fork up the cash to do it. |

my seats are tearing.
The vinyl is mostly good one bad stop, bottom of drivers, can be ignored), but the cloth is shagged.
I want to replace the cloth centres, and the rear seat cloth at the same time (gotta match!), anyone know what it costs? Preferable world wide prices, I want to see "rip off" Britain in action |

Note to self, cut leather patterns, send to upholstery shop...
What about replacing the seats? Get leather, save weight, more comfortable...
I like this one

Unfortunatly, from what I hear, the cloth centres that have the PORSCHE script have been discontinued. so, if yours are salvageable, I'd keep them, if not, I suggest just going out and buying a new seat... |

I am having mine recovered at a local shop. $1200.00 for the front&rear seats as well as the door pads.
Yellow leather in the centers with 'PORSCHE' embrodered in the center of the back rest area. The rest of the seat will be black.
Door pads will have the top section that is already 'embossed' with 'PORSCHE' that is black and the rest of the door pad will be yellow.
I will post some pics whaen I get them back in a month or so.

| $1200 for all leather... For that cost though, I could get a nice set of leather sports seats though, and they would be lighter. Then again, you get custom stuff to match your paint and everything. |

you guys are sure paying a lot over there.
i got new carpets pressed for $200.
these got installed by my upholsterer guy. he also recovered front and back seats in grey velour along with rear side panels and door trims (velour also) for $800. Brand new interior (painted top of door trims, roof, dash, console with vinyl paint for $30) for $1030 all up and i only did about 10% of the work.
and whats more this is all in australian $ |
