I need to know what size rims i should go for on my 924, Keep in mind that i am on a very tight budget but want aftermarket rims, basically i will purchase new rims and get some used tires. And if someone could let me know what size tires i'll need for each size rims to keeps everything correct i owuld appreciate it.
Thanks,

Mark,
Check out Ebay. Search under Porsche wheels. Do you have 4-lug or 5-lug wheels. What year car?
As for tires, before you buy used check out Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 on Tire Racks site. They are very inexpensive but the performance is excellent even in the rain.
Good luck

Sorry, i should have specified, i know what rims i am going to get i just wnat to know what the difference i am going to get with a 17 inch rim instead of a 16 or 15 inch, cause i can get tires for the 15 or 16 inch rim cheaper cause they arent as low profile.
Thanks,

A taller rim will give you better handling but a harsher ride. They're also more expensive, as are the tires. Get the tallest rims you can stand to buy tires for on a regular basis. I think 17's are the optimal size rim, cosmetically, for the 924/944.

| Keep in mind the bigger the rim, the more expensive the tire. Consider what you want the car for. If you want a cushioned ride, get a 15" with a 60 profile, if you want really good cornering, go for the 17 with a 45. For a nice in between, try the 205/55/16 all around. You can also run a 215/55/16 on the back. This shouldn't affect the speedo too much by my rough guesstimation |

I have 16x7.5 rims on my car with 225 50 16 tires. The fronts needed to be rolled with this wide of a tire, but the back has plenty of space. I would recomend 205 55 16 in front and 225 50 16 in back on a 7" wide rim.

You can run 16x8 wheels on these cars, I will own one with 4 bolt 16x8s. 205/40/16s all around. These tires are too short for the car, but the wheels are just the right size.
The speedo is driven off of wheel sensors? Sweet, the tires the PO bought won't affect it... now I just need a speedo

If you are interested in 4 bolt 15" Porsche spiderweb wheels, I have a set complete with the longer wheel bolts and center caps. Look for " 15" spiderweb rims w/ pic" ad in the the parts-for-sale section of the list.
